Fresh Fish Fillets/ Overnight/Summer/Gel & Dry Ice Pellets![]() This test was conducted with Save On Seafood in St Petersburg, FL in the summer. 4-baffle AirLiners were packed with fresh salmon, tuna and swordfish fillets. The same sized boxes insulated with 1.5 inch foam inserts were packed the same way. All shipments used one 2 lb. gel pack and a sprinkling of dry ice pellets as refrigerants. The boxes were shipped overnight by various carriers to many Steakhouses across the USA. All shipments arrived at their destinations in good condition both foam and AirLiner. One interesting point that was noted is that although the AirLiner and foam were packed the identical way, the AirLiner went to a lower start temperature than the foam, 37° F vs. 41° F. The AirLiner and foam tracked each other with the AirLiner on average being 5° cooler. The extremes in the data were Iowa, with the AirLiner being 15° cooler than foam and both Minnesota locations with AirLiner and Foam being virtually identical. The product was well received by all locations and the general comment from the recipients was that product in AirLiner seemed colder. There was a general consensus that the AirLiner was much easier to dispose of than the foam. |
The Answer is in its Proprietary Design! Why does AirLiner work so well? The key to AirLiner's ability to maintain constant temperature is found in it's Award-winning, patented, internal heat barrier technology. Under a United States Department of Energy Grant, researchers at the Ernest O. Berkeley National Laboratory developed the gas-filled panels that are central to AirLiner's design. AirLiner is manufactured using layers of reflective barrier film that are heat-sealed into a proprietary geometry. These unique aluminized, honeycomb baffles block heat transfer to keep the heat out, so your product stays cooler longer! You can even choose to enhance AirLiner's performance by inflating with an inert gas! AirLiner Works Both Ways AirLiner was initially designed to keep heat out of your fresh and frozen shipments; however, it does an equally superior job keeping heat and warmth in your shipment - if that's what you require! The unique thermal design is perfect for shipping products that can't get too cold such as live tropical fish, pharmaceutical products and other products which must maintain specific temperature ranges. |
